Bodegas Muga is a family-owned winery established in 1932 and located in the historic Barrio de la Estación in Haro, the heart of Rioja Alta. Renowned for its dedication to craftsmanship and tradition, it is among the few Spanish wineries that maintain a dedicated cooperage on-site and still carry out all fermentation processes in oak barrels. This meticulous approach highlights their passion for quality, from vineyard management—where local grape varieties like Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano thrive in clay-limestone soils—to careful vinification, resulting in wines celebrated for their balance, elegance, and potential to age gracefully. With a portfolio that includes iconic labels such as Prado Enea and Torre Muga, Bodegas Muga continues to uphold the legacy of its founding family, blending time-honored practices with modern expertise to produce some of Spain’s most esteemed Riojan wines.

TASTING NOTES
The Torre Muga boasts a deep hue and vibrant red colour. The nose is highly intense, dominated by ripe blackberry and strawberry aromas, complemented by aging notes from fine French oak, including toasted, smoky hints and nuances of coffee. On the palate, it is powerful, echoing the refined aromas from the nose. It strikes an excellent balance between alcohol and acidity, with smooth, elegant tannins. The finish is exceptionally long, leaving a satisfying and full sensation.
