With origins tracing back to the 17th century, Château Palmer, located on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, was initially classified as a third growth in the renowned 1855 classification. However, its consistent quality has elevated Palmer to the status of a top ‘Super Second’. In its appellation, Palmer is often compared to its first growth neighbor, Château Margaux, and its wines are revered as some of the finest in Bordeaux. Nestled in the commune of Cantenac, the estate boasts 66 hectares of vineyards situated on a gravel terrace overlooking the Gironde estuary. The vineyard is evenly divided between Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (47% each), with a small portion of Petit Verdot (6%) adding balance. Palmer’s relatively high Merlot content sets it apart from other Grands Crus of the Médoc, contributing to its distinctive style on the Left Bank.

TASTING NOTES
Deep and rich in colour, displaying an inky black/purple hue, this wine presents an intense and concentrated aroma characterised by ripe blackcurrant, plum, sweet spice, and hints of violets. Despite its concentration, there's a lifted elegance that adds to its appeal. On the palate, it reveals full-bodied richness complemented by refreshing mineral notes. Juicy blackberry and bramble fruit flavours intermingle with layers of sweet spice and herbal undertones, creating a complex and captivating profile. The wine's creamy texture and supple, refined tannins further enhance its charm. With an exceptionally long and fresh finish, it exhibits remarkable poise and balance.
