Crystallum is a family-owned winery based in South Africa’s Walker Bay region, run by brothers Andrew and Peter-Allan Finlayson — the third generation of winemakers in the Finlayson family. Sons of the man who pioneered Pinot Noir in Hemel-en-Aarde, Andrew initially trained as an architect and Peter-Allan studied philosophy and economics, but both were soon drawn into the world of wine — Andrew to the vineyards, Peter-Allan to the cellar.
Founded in 2007 with just over 4,000 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, Crystallum shifted focus the following year to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Today, they specialise exclusively in these Burgundian varieties, crafting a range of multi-vineyard blends and single-vineyard wines.
