Situated at the base of the Tuscan Apennines near the picturesque medieval village of Lucignano, Tenuta Licinia occupies a prime location straddling the border between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo. The estate encompasses 60 hectares of woodland, 5.5 hectares of vineyards, and 3 hectares of olive groves. Lucignano boasts an ancient viticultural heritage dating back to the time of the Etruscans, although winemaking declined during the social unrest of the 20th century. The vineyards were reestablished in 2007 on a plot renowned for producing exceptional wines in the local region. Tenuta Licinia focuses on crafting limited quantities of wines that reflect the unique interaction between the grapes and the subsoil. Vines are exclusively planted in areas where the galestro subsoil, highly esteemed in Tuscany, predominates. Certified organic, the winery has also begun incorporating biodynamic principles into its vineyard management since 2019.

TASTING NOTES
Presenting a bright ruby hue adorned with garnet reflections, this wine entices with its aromatic bouquet. Notes of plums, blackberries, sour cherries, forest floor, and dark chocolate intermingle on the nose. Full-bodied and textured with fine-grained tannins, its flavours echo the complexity of the aroma profile. The finish is long, radiant, and leaves a lasting impression.
