In 1988, La Rioja Alta, based in Haro, undertook an extensive examination of various terroirs in Ribera del Duero to pinpoint the ideal location for launching a new winery. Following meticulous assessment, they opted to establish their presence in the town of Anguix in 1991, acquiring existing vineyards and initiating new plantings. However, it wasn’t until 2001, a decade later, that the newly established vineyards achieved the desired level of quality. Now, over twenty-five years since its inception, Bodegas Áster has adeptly blended tradition with innovation, evident in the wines it produces.
