A long-standing, family-operated vineyard committed to organic practices. Established by Jean Richard, a cooper, and continued by his son Henri Richard, the domaine acquired its first parcel of Mazoyères-Chambertin in 1938 from the esteemed Burgundian writer Gaston Roupnel. Henri Richard obtained his Oenology diploma in 1939 and managed the estate until 1977. He was succeeded by his son-in-law, Jean Bastien, and later by his daughter Margaret in 1990. Today, the legacy of Domaine Henri Richard is carried on by the fourth generation, Richard and Sarah Bastien, children of Margaret and Jean. Winemaking is ingrained in their heritage: Richard, an oenologist and consultant since 2004, and Sarah, who joined the domaine in 2011 with a Master’s degree in Wine Knowledge and International Trade.

TASTING NOTES
The aroma showcases ripe fruit tones, accompanied by subtle hints of raspberry and a touch of cinnamon. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich, and velvety, displaying a dense yet finely balanced character. Flavours of black fruits, plum, and blackberry dominate, with delicate nuances of cassis, chocolate, and licorice adding depth to the experience.
