Our journey begins with an in-depth search for the perfect vineyards rooted in the right soils. As a small, boutique winery, we’re devoted to uncovering the unique character of old vines in Swartland, along with select, scenic pockets of Voor-Paardeberg and Piekenierskloof. These sites offer a remarkable expression of the schist, granite, and iron-rich soils that define them.
As stewards of these special lands, we work exclusively with growers who share our commitment to sustainable farming. This ensures that we cultivate top-quality grapes while preserving the health of the environment and the longevity of the vineyards.
When the grapes reach their peak, we take on the role of interpreters—translating their natural expression into wine. We believe great wine begins in the vineyard, and our role in the cellar is to guide it gently with minimal intervention. That means fermenting with only wild, indigenous yeasts and avoiding additives, save for a minimal touch of sulphur. Once complete, our wines are rested in a thoughtful mix of neutral oak and concrete, allowing their innate rhythm and character to shine through.
